Is it safe to visit the dentist during the pandemic?

At Premium Dental Implants, we have heard from many of our patients that prior to visiting, they were nervous about coming in for treatment for fear of exposing themselves to the COVID virus.

We wanted to address this issue and reassure our patients that in our practice, all the appropriate cross-infection control and distancing measures are in place. This means that as a patient, you will not be exposed to any germs besides your own when visiting us.

Your dental practice is one of the safest places on the high street to visit, and certainly of much lower risk than visiting a supermarket. Anything going into a patient’s mouth will be sterile, and more than 95% of any infected droplets of saliva will go straight up the high-volume suction tip that the nurse is trained to use efficiently.

We have invested heavily in PPE which is above the required standard, meaning we are ready to continue treating patients during the coming months. We have also taken preventative measures to protect our staff from the saliva droplets of patients. The equipment and dental procedures themselves pose no risk of spreading coronavirus to the patient.

Alongside social distancing, hand hygiene and face coverings, we have taken additional measures in our practice. Appointments are appropriately staggered, air change equipment installed and extensive PPE is being worn by staff and patients alike.
